This is the deep end. You’ll take a custom (or emulated) board from “nothing boots” to a working Linux system with your own kernel drivers.

Topics include Device Tree authoring, writing a character driver for a custom peripheral, I2C/SPI driver development, and the full bring-up flow from U-Boot to a booting kernel with your hardware recognized.

Who this is for

Engineers already comfortable with embedded C and basic Linux usage who want to move into BSP and driver development roles.

Prerequisites

Completion of RTOS From Scratch with FreeRTOS or equivalent experience, plus comfort with the Linux command line.
